My name is Monica Dattage. I guess this is the page where I tell you a little about myself, so here it goes…
San Diego is my home. From the day I was born till the day I go, I am sure it will always be. I live for a good carne asada burrito and a double double protein style; not at the same time of course.
I recently graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in journalism from California State University, Sacramento and quickly learned I was not done learning. I am now pursuing my Master’s in Communication from Syracuse University. Through this program I am specializing in Journalism innovation; an exploration of digital trends and new immersing technologies in order to create engaging content and data-driven journalism.
In addition to continuing my learning through a master’s program, I am working full-time as a television news producer at KSBW-TV in Salinas, Ca. In the short time I have held this position, I have had the opportunity to learn invaluable skills that I will continue to grow throughout my career.
It is my hope that one day I will be able to make my mark on journalism. Though my participation with the Society of Professional Journalists and as a freelance journalist, I will continue to support the fight for the freedom of information and follow a strict code of ethics in my work.
If you would like to know even more about my work, I can be contacted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
